4 years later..
after 4 years of pandemic lockdowns, it was so awesome to be going back to one of our favorite travel destinations, japan.
this time round, we were there with our closest family members for our honeymoon and their pre-wedding and family portrait sessions. our trip spans over two weeks and we covered mt fuji, hakone, kyoto, osaka, okayama and tokyo. we were most excited about mt fuji and i have been actively looking up for travel guides etc before our trip. i read somewhere that we'd need lady luck shining on us in order to witness mt fuji in her full glory but i did not think too much of it. little did we know that lady luck was on annual leave and we only managed to see mt fuji for the particular morning that we scheduled for our shoots to happen (sad face). the rest of the days in mt fuji were raining and there weren't any sakura blooming throughout the area as well, but we tried to make the best out of whatever we could.
not going to deny tho— we will never forget how we felt when we saw mt fuji through the windows of our airbnb for the first time. she was indeed magnificent and breathtaking.
thankfully, the skies cleared up for us throughout the rest of the trip and we managed to take more photos for our family.
had to admit that traveling in a big group is already no easy feat and having an active toddler made it extra challenging! while we had mentally prepped ourselves for possible meltdowns, experiencing it first-hand on a day-to-day basis still caught us a little off-guard. however, despite the full schedules, we all made it work and it was definitely a very memorable trip for all of us. got to applaud all parents out there, the selfless love for their children is truly remarkable. also not forgetting our 3 men in the team, for the joint effort in lifting the baby pram up fushimi inari as it, unfortunately, clashed with our princess' naptime (hahaha)
this trip bonded us further as a family and now we're looking forward to more trips together.
