They say distance makes the hearts fonder — and very soon, this couple would have to experience it for themselves.
This is the love story of my little cousin Jiamin and her boyfriend Charlton. They are a sweet pair who love each other with the gentlest gestures and kindest words. Despite being together for close to only a year, his overseas military training to America will force them to spend their next two apart.
This photoshoot is a gift I specially conceptualised for them. From the choice of venue, outfits to hairdo and nail design, I opted for a minimalistic theme to accentuate their mild personalities. I thought their understated love is best illustrated with what they do best — the exchange of handwritten letters.
With his flight scheduled early next month, they will fall short of the chance to spend this Christmas together. I thought the fairy lights will give them a tinge of the festive feel. “No winter is too cold”, so she wrote to him. I definitely believe so. For as long as there is love, he will feel her warmth even in the coldest weather.
Special thanks to Hotel NuVe Heritage for letting out their two suites (suite artist & suite explorer) for us to hold the shoot, together with Zihan for her makeup & hairdo on Jiamin, Lovengold & Sabotage Store for the outfits, Magdalene from Floralsbym for the lovely floral bouquet, Patricia from Nailzcouture for the intricate manicure artwork and fine jewelries from LivLov Jewelry. Lastly, my sis Qili for going all out to ensure the shoot proceeded smoothly.
